Aksioloogia

Aksioloogia is the philosophical study of value. It explores the nature, origin, and types of values, encompassing what is considered good, bad, right, wrong, beautiful, or ugly. Aksioloogia investigates how we determine what has value and the principles that guide our judgments.

The field is broadly divided into two main areas: ethics and aesthetics. Ethics deals with moral values, examining concepts such as justice, virtue, and duty. Aesthetics, on the other hand, focuses on artistic and sensory values, exploring beauty, taste, and the appreciation of art.

Within aksioloogia, various theories attempt to explain the foundation of values. Some theories propose that values are objective, existing independently of human minds. Others argue that values are subjective, created or perceived by individuals or societies. There are also instrumental theories, which view values as means to an end, and intrinsic theories, which consider certain things valuable in themselves.
