Akimans are a culturally distinct community traditionally inhabiting the central river valleys of the fictional continent of Lyrion. They are organized around bilateral kinship and are governed by a council of elders alongside elected representatives from major settlements.

The Akiman language belongs to the Yamoran language family and comprises Northern Akiman and Southern Akiman dialects. Literacy is achieved through a locally developed syllabary known as the Akim Script, though Latin script is common in urban areas and schools.
