Akaky
Akaky is a fictional character who serves as the protagonist in Nikolai Gogol's 1842 short story of the same name. He is a humble and unremarkable titular councillor working in a St. Petersburg government department. Akaky is depicted as a solitary and timid man, whose life is entirely consumed by his work as a copyist. He finds his only joy and purpose in meticulously transcribing documents, an activity he is exceptionally skilled at. His existence is monotonous and impoverished, with little social interaction or personal fulfillment.
The central conflict of the story arises when Akaky realizes his worn-out overcoat is no longer adequate
