Aivazovsky

Ivan Aivazovsky was a prominent Armenian-Russian Romantic painter known for his seascapes. Born in Feodosia, Crimea, in 1817, he rose to become one of the most celebrated marine artists of his era. His prolific output and unique style earned him international recognition.

Aivazovsky's artistic journey began with formal training at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg. He quickly developed a distinctive approach to depicting the sea, capturing its dynamic movement, ethereal light, and dramatic power. His works are characterized by their luminous colors, atmospheric effects, and often turbulent seascapes, frequently featuring shipwrecks or naval battles.
