Afgooye
Afgooye is a town and the administrative center of Afgooye District in the Lower Shabelle region of southern Somalia. It lies along the Shabelle River, about 30 kilometers southwest of Mogadishu, and sits on the main road that connects the capital with southern towns.
The town lies in a fertile river valley where irrigation from the Shabelle supports agricultural activity.
Afgooye has served as an administrative center since the district’s organization within the regional government structure.
Economy is dominated by agriculture and trade, with many residents engaged in farming, trading, and transport
