Adrenaler

Adrenaler is a term used mainly as an adjective in some European languages to denote relation to the adrenal glands or to adrenal-related processes. In English, the form adrenaler is uncommon, and the standard terms adrenal or adrenal-related are typically used instead.

Etymology and usage context: The root adren- derives from adrenal, which in medical terminology refers to the two endocrine glands located on top of the kidneys. The adjective form in some Germanic languages follows patterns such as adrenaler or adrenale to describe things pertaining to the adrenals. In these languages, adrenaler can appear in phrases like adrenaler Sekretion (adrenal secretion). English-language use generally prefers adrenal to convey the same sense.

Anatomy and physiology context: The adrenal glands, or suprarenal glands, have two main parts: the adrenal cortex and the adrenal medulla.
