Adhereerumist

Adhereerumist is a coined term used in some discussions to denote the act or process of adhesion, both literal and figurative. The word is formed from the verb adhereer- root and the suffix -mist, which marks a process or state. In literal use, adhereerumist refers to the joining of surfaces or biological interfaces through adhesive forces. In figurative use, it describes the tendency to cling to ideas, policies, routines, or social norms, and to maintain alignment with a group or authority.
