Adatmodellezési, or data modeling, is the process of creating a visual representation of data and its relationships within a database or information system. It involves defining the structure of the data, the types of data that will be stored, and how different pieces of data will connect to each other. This process is crucial for designing efficient, organized, and maintainable databases.

There are generally three levels of data modeling: conceptual, logical, and physical. Conceptual data modeling focuses on the business requirements and high-level entities. Logical data modeling translates these concepts into a more detailed structure, defining attributes and relationships without specifying the actual database technology. Physical data modeling then maps the logical model to a specific database management system, considering performance and storage constraints.

Key components of data modeling include entities, attributes, and relationships. Entities represent the main objects or concepts being stored, such as "customer" or "product." Attributes are the properties of these entities, like "customer name" or "product price." Relationships describe how entities are connected, such as a "customer places an order."

Effective data modeling leads to improved data integrity, reduced redundancy, and a clearer understanding of the data landscape. It facilitates communication between developers, database administrators, and business stakeholders, ensuring that the database accurately reflects the needs of the organization.
