Acylperoksihapot

Acylperoksihapot are a class of organic compounds characterized by the presence of a peroxide functional group (-O-O-) bonded to an acyl group (-CO-R). The general formula for an acylperoxy acid is R-CO-O-O-H, where R represents an alkyl or aryl group. These compounds are often referred to as peroxy acids or peroxycarboxylic acids.

Peroxy acids are strong oxidizing agents. This oxidizing power stems from the weak oxygen-oxygen single bond in the peroxide group, which readily breaks to release reactive oxygen species.
