Accorc

Accorc is a coastal city-state and constitutional republic in the northern archipelago of Verridia. It comprises several urban centers surrounding the harbor region. The capital is Portor, and the unicameral Assembly of Accori governs the state. The population is about 360,000, primarily urban.

The name Accorc derives from the ancient Accori word accor, meaning concord, reflecting its historical role as a trading nexus.

Geographically, the land is mostly low-lying coastal plains with limestone cliffs, and the region experiences a temperate maritime climate. Portor serves as the main harbor, while inland areas support vineyards and orchards, contributing to a mixed economy.

Accorc originated as a medieval trading post along northern maritime routes. By the 13th century it had gained de facto autonomy, and a modern constitution was adopted in 1952. It joined a regional economic union in the 1990s.

The government is a constitutional republic. The President serves as head of state, and the Prime Minister as head of government. The unicameral Assembly of 60 members is elected for four-year terms, and the judiciary is independent.

The economy is diversified, with maritime services, shipbuilding, seafood processing, and crafts as major sectors. Accorport, the principal port, handles international trade. The currency is the accor, abbreviated ACC.

Accorc is multilingual, with Accori as the traditional language alongside Verridian and Portun. It hosts the annual Sea Festival and maintains maritime schools, museums, and a national library.
