Accedisteis

Accedisteis is the second-person plural pretérito indefinido (simple past) form of the Spanish verb acceder. It can mean “you all accessed” when referring to entering a place or a system, or “you all agreed/consented” to a proposal or request. The verb acceder has two primary senses in Spanish: to gain access to something (a building, a website, a document) and to yield or consent to a condition or request (acceder a una propuesta, a un acuerdo).

Etymology and usage note: acceder comes from Latin accēdere, from ad- “toward” + cēdere “to go, yield.” In modern Spanish, both senses are common, with the first being frequent in computing and security contexts and the second in negotiations and formal requests.

Grammatical and regional notes: accedisteis is the pretérito perfecto simple form used with the vosotros form, standard in Spain and other regions that use vos convening. In most of Latin America, where the vosotros form is not standard, the corresponding preterite is accedieron (ustedes accedieron). The meaning is determined by context: it can describe gaining access or agreeing to something.
