Abrassieve

Abrassieve is a fictional engineered material described in speculative materials science and in science-fiction contexts as a porous, highly abrasive composite designed for use in flow-through sieving and material-processing systems. The term combines 'abrasive' and 'sieve' to reflect its intended function: to abrade and separate particles within a single component, enabling in-situ deburring, polishing, and filtration.

Concept and design. Abrassieve is typically imagined as a composite in which hard abrasive grains such as boron carbide or silicon carbide are embedded in a porous matrix made from ceramics, ceramics-metal hybrids, or porous metals.
