ASEANMitglieder

ASEANMitglieder refers to the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), a regional intergovernmental organization formed in 1967 to promote cooperation in politics, economics, security, and culture in Southeast Asia. The grouping began with five founding members—Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand—and has since expanded to ten member states.

The ASEAN member states are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. These states coordinate through the ASEAN Summit and the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, and decisions are generally made by consensus. Membership entails commitments to the ASEAN Way, including respect for sovereignty and non-interference, shared norms on regional cooperation, and gradual economic integration through frameworks such as the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA).

ASEANMitglieder retain full sovereignty while pursuing common projects, and the association engages dialogue partners and observers to broaden regional cooperation.
