AQF
The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is a national policy that incorporates the standards and outcomes of qualifications across all sectors in Australia. It provides a comprehensive system for recognising learning and ensures that qualifications are consistent and comparable. The AQF outlines 10 levels of learning, from Certificate I to Doctoral Degree, with each level defined by a set of learning outcomes. These outcomes describe what a person will know, understand, and be able to do as a result of their learning. The AQF applies to qualifications awarded by universities, vocational education and training providers, and schools. Its purpose is to support lifelong learning by providing clarity and pathways for individuals to gain recognition for their skills and knowledge, and to facilitate their progression through different levels of education and training. The AQF also plays a vital role in international recognition of Australian qualifications, ensuring they are understood and respected globally. It is managed by the Australian Government Department of Education.
