AP Statistics is a college-level introductory statistics course offered to high school students through the College Board's Advanced Placement (AP) program. The course aims to introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. It emphasizes conceptual understanding and the practical application of statistical methods.

The curriculum typically covers four main themes: exploring data, sampling and experimentation, probability and inferential statistics. Students learn about graphical and numerical summaries of data, experimental design, random sampling, probability distributions, and the foundations of statistical inference, including confidence intervals and hypothesis tests. A significant portion of the course involves interpreting statistical results in context and communicating findings effectively.

Students who successfully complete the AP Statistics course and score well on the AP exam may receive college credit or advanced placement at many universities and colleges. The course is designed to be equivalent to a one-semester introductory college statistics course.
