APerfectCircle is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1999. The band consists of Maynard James Keenan, who is also the frontman of the band Tool, and guitarist Billy Howerdel. The initial lineup also featured drummer Tim Alexander and bassist Paz Lenchantin, though the band has seen several lineup changes over the years. Their music is characterized by a blend of atmospheric rock, alternative metal, and progressive rock elements, often featuring intricate guitar work, powerful vocals, and introspective lyrics.

APerfectCircle's debut album, Mer de Noms, was released in 2000 to critical acclaim and commercial success, reaching platinum status in the United States. This was followed by their second album, Thirteenth Step, in 2003, which also garnered significant attention and charted well. The band's third studio album, eMOTIVe, was released in 2004 and presented a more politically charged thematic approach. After a long hiatus, APerfectCircle returned with their fourth album, Eat the Elephant, in 2018.

The band is known for its distinctive sound, which often juxtaposes melodic passages with heavier, more intense sections. Keenan's distinctive vocal style, ranging from soft melodies to aggressive shouts, is a central element of their music.
