AERB

The Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, commonly known as AERB, is a statutory body established by the Government of India under the Atomic Energy Act, 1962. Its primary mandate is to ensure the safety and security of all activities involving atomic energy and radiation in India. AERB functions under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).

The Board is responsible for setting safety standards and regulations for the peaceful use of atomic energy, including nuclear power plants, medical diagnostic and therapeutic facilities, and industrial radiography. AERB's role encompasses licensing, inspection, and enforcement to prevent undue radiation exposure to workers, the public, and the environment.
