ACPIZustände

ACPIZustände, also known as Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) states, are power management states defined by the ACPI specification. These states are used to manage the power consumption of computer systems, including laptops, desktops, and servers. ACPI states are categorized into two main types: C-states and P-states.

C-states, or CPU power states, are used to manage the power consumption of the CPU. There are several C-states, ranging from C0 to C3, with C0 being the active state and C3 being the deepest sleep state. In C-states, the CPU reduces its power consumption by turning off certain components or reducing their performance.

P-states, or performance states, are used to manage the performance and power consumption of the CPU. P-states range from P0 to Pn, with P0 being the highest performance state and Pn being the lowest. In P-states, the CPU adjusts its clock speed and voltage to balance performance and power consumption.

ACPI states are managed by the operating system and the hardware, with the operating system providing the necessary drivers and software to control the power management features. ACPI states are an essential component of modern power management, enabling computers to conserve energy and reduce heat generation while maintaining performance.
