4K and 8K refer to specific ultra-high definition (UHD) display resolutions. 4K, also known as UHD-1, has a resolution of approximately 3840 pixels horizontally by 2160 pixels vertically, totaling over 8 million pixels. This is about four times the number of pixels found in standard Full HD (1080p) resolution. The increased pixel count in 4K allows for sharper images, more detailed textures, and a more immersive viewing experience, especially on larger screens.

8K, or UHD-2, represents an even higher resolution, typically 7680 pixels horizontally by 4320 pixels vertically. This results in over 33 million pixels, which is sixteen times the pixel count of Full HD and four times the pixel count of 4K. The higher pixel density of 8K offers exceptional clarity and detail, making individual pixels virtually indistinguishable even at close viewing distances. While 4K content and displays are now widely available, 8K technology is still emerging, with 8K content production and display adoption gradually increasing. Both resolutions are used in televisions, monitors, cameras, and professional video production.
