2624551
2624551 is a numbered minor planet located in the outer region of the main asteroid belt. It was first observed on 12 March 2005 by the LINEAR survey at the Lincoln Laboratory's Experimental Test Site in Socorro, New Mexico. The discovery was independently confirmed the following month by the Catalina Sky Survey, which obtained a series of follow‑up observations that allowed for the calculation of a confirmed orbit. Its orbit has a semi‑major axis of approximately 3.2 astronomical units, an eccentricity of 0.15, and an inclination of 12 degrees with respect to the ecliptic. The orbital period is 5.8 Earth years.
The body is classified as a C-type asteroid, based on spectral analysis from the Sloan Digital Sky
2624551 has not been the subject of any significant scientific studies beyond its initial orbital determination.
