It was discovered on 1 March 2004 by the LINEAR survey at the White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, USA. The provisional designation of the object is 2004 AX39, and it received its permanent number in 2011 after its orbit was well determined.

The asteroid follows an elliptical orbit with a semi‑major axis of approximately 2.68 AU, an eccentricity of 0.12, and an inclination of 3.6° relative to the ecliptic. Its orbital period is about 4.4 Earth years. The mean anomaly at the epoch of JPL’s standard ephemeris is 82.5°, and the perihelion distance is 2.36 AU.

Photometric observations suggest a moderate albedo and a rotation period of roughly 5.2 hours, although detailed shape models are not yet available. Based on an assumed albedo of 0.15, the estimated diameter is about 4.7 kilometers. The composition is inferred to be stony (S‑type) from its spectral classification in the SMASS taxonomy, consistent with many asteroids in this region of the belt.
