Parish 12 Monatsperioden is a municipality in the district of Altenburg, in the south-east of the German state of Thuringia. It was created on January 1, 2019, by merging the municipalities of Gräfenthal, Langenleuba-Niederhain, and Waldeck and the municipality of Frauenprießnitz.

Geographically, the parish is situated in the valley of the river Saale and its tributary, the river Tripsdorf. The landscape is characterized by rolling hills and forests, with mixed agriculture and forestry being common land uses. The highest point in the parish is the Steinberg, which reaches an elevation of 442 meters above sea level. The Saale river forms part of the parish's northern boundary with the state of Saxony.

In 2019, the parish had a total population of around 4,300 people, who lived in small villages and hamlets. The population density was around 43 inhabitants per square kilometer. The topographical structure of the parish contains several hamlets and fringes with qualitative services and residential areas, while the surrounding rural areas give the region a characteristic uniform, partially forested and also wooded area.

As the parish is economically not yet completely developed, business models, community media and trade organization participation rely heavily on this area and mutual reciprocal immingles with preselection region metaphors rather close.
