116044
116044 is a numbered minor planet of the asteroid belt. It was first observed on 15 April 2005 by the LINEAR survey at the Lincoln Near‑Earth Asteroid Research facility in Socorro, New Mexico. Following follow‑up observations that confirmed its orbit, the Minor Planet Center assigned the permanent number 116044. The asteroid is classified as a typical S‑type in the inner part of the main belt, although spectroscopic data are limited. Its orbital parameters place it at a semi‑major axis of approximately 2.5 astronomical units, with an orbital period of roughly 3.95 years, an eccentricity near 0.15, and an inclination of about 7 degrees relative to the ecliptic. Estimated diameter is on the order of 5–6 km based on its absolute magnitude of 15.7 and an assumed albedo of 0.20. No official name has yet been proposed for the object, and it remains designated only by its number. The minor planet has been observed at multiple oppositions, allowing its orbit to be determined with good precision, and it appears in the standard compilations of numbered minor planets maintained by the International Astronomical Union.
