çoulablativ

Çoulablativ is a constructed language (conlang) created as a linguistic experiment to explore how a dedicated ablative case can function within a mixed analytic–synthetic grammar. The name combines the diacritic letter ç with lativ, highlighting the language’s emphasis on the ablative function.

Phonology and orthography: The writing system is Latin-based, augmented with diacritics such as ç. The consonant inventory includes p, b, t, d, k, g, f, s, ʃ, m, n, l, r, j, and the ç phoneme; vowels are a, e, i, o, u. Stress is typically on the penultimate syllable, with limited vowel length distinctions in some dialects.

Grammar: Çoulablativ is predominantly SVO and analytic, but nouns carry explicit case markers. The core cases are nominative, accusative, dative, and ablative, with the ablative marked by a suffix such as -lativ. Determiners are minimal; adjectives generally follow nouns and agree with the noun in number. Verbs mark tense and aspect with affixes and auxiliary particles; the mood system includes indicative and subjunctive.

Usage and status: The language remains primarily a research and hobby project within conlang communities. Grammatical sketches, word lists, and learner materials exist in online forums and small publications. It is not widely used for daily communication beyond demonstration texts and academic exercises.
