Treatment depends on the underlying cause and can include vocal rest, voice therapy with a speech-language pathologist, medication to treat infections or reflux, and in some instances, surgical intervention. Prevention strategies focus on healthy vocal habits, such as staying hydrated, avoiding shouting, and managing underlying medical conditions.
