Ühendusvabaduse

Ühendusvabadus, often translated as freedom of association, is a fundamental human right that allows individuals to come together and form groups, organizations, or associations for any lawful purpose. This freedom is recognized in many national constitutions and international human rights instruments, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

The right to freedom of association encompasses a broad range of activities. It permits people to form political parties, trade unions, religious groups, charitable organizations, clubs, and any other type of collective body. It also includes the freedom to join existing associations or to refrain from joining them. This right is essential for a functioning democracy, as it enables citizens to express their views, advocate for their interests, and participate in public life.

While freedom of association is a broad right, it is not absolute.
