Östermalmshallen, or Östermalms Saluhall, is a historic indoor market in the Östermalm district of Stockholm, Sweden, located near Östermalmstorg. Opened in 1888, it was built to provide a permanent venue for producers to sell fresh food directly to customers. The hall has long been a focal point of Stockholm’s food culture, with stalls offering fish, meat, cheese, bread, fruit and vegetables, as well as prepared foods and delicatessen items. Its brick exterior and glass-and-iron interiors reflect late 19th-century market hall design, and it remains a recognizable city landmark.
