Äänensiirtotekniikat refer to methods used to transfer audio signals from one point to another. These techniques are fundamental to various communication and entertainment systems, including telephony, broadcasting, and digital audio processing.

Analog audio transfer often involves transmitting electrical signals that directly represent the sound wave's characteristics like amplitude and frequency. This can be done over wires, such as copper cables, or wirelessly through radio waves. While simple, analog methods are susceptible to noise and signal degradation over distance.

Digital audio transfer, on the other hand, involves converting the analog sound wave into a series of binary digits (bits). This digital data can then be transmitted and stored. Before transmission, the analog signal is sampled at regular intervals and quantized to represent its amplitude at each sample point. Common digital transfer methods include transmission over networks like the internet using protocols like TCP/IP, or storage on digital media such as CDs or hard drives. The advantage of digital transfer is its robustness against noise and its ability to be easily copied and manipulated without loss of quality. Compression techniques are often employed to reduce the file size of digital audio, making transmission and storage more efficient. Examples of audio codecs used for compression include MP3 and AAC.
