üksiknukleotiidsete
Uksiknukleotiidsete refers to single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in Estonian. A single nucleotide polymorphism is a variation in a single base pair of DNA. SNPs are the most common type of genetic variation among people. Each SNP represents a difference in a single DNA building block, called a nucleotide. For example, a SNP may replace the nucleotide cytosine (C) with the nucleotide thymine (T) in a particular sequence of DNA. SNPs can occur in coding regions of genes, which are the parts of genes that code for proteins, or in non-coding regions, which are the parts of genes that do not code for proteins.
SNPs are believed to contribute to human diversity and are found throughout the genome. They are inherited
