ídkým

Ídkým is a 19th-century nationalist and folklorist movement that emerged in the Balkans, particularly in what is now modern-day Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia. The term "ídkým" is derived from the Slovene and Croatian word for "folk", and refers to a revival of folk culture and identity in the region.

Led by figures such as Matija Mažuranić, Vaclav Antun Vranić, and Frane Vladika, the ídkým movement aimed to promote national identity and cultural heritage by collecting and preserving folklore, literature, and oral traditions of the South Slavic people. The movement's focus on folk culture was seen as a way to assert the region's distinct identity and resist the influence of Western European culture, particularly on the part of Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman powers that had colonized the area.
