élhosszak
Élhosszak, also known as the "Hungarian Longswords," were a type of long sword used by Hungarian soldiers during the Middle Ages. They were characterized by their distinctive blade shape, which was typically straight and relatively narrow, with a fuller at the pommel. The blade length varied, but it usually ranged from 80 to 100 centimeters. The hilts were often made of wood, with a metal guard and a crossguard. The swords were typically single-edged, with a full tang that extended through the hilt and pommel. The pommel was often decorated with intricate carvings or inlays. Élhosszak were used by Hungarian soldiers in various battles and skirmishes, and they played a significant role in the defense of the Hungarian kingdom. Despite their effectiveness, they were eventually replaced by other types of weapons as military tactics and technologies evolved.
