Þórsmörks
Þórsmörk is a nature reserve located in southern Iceland, nestled between three glaciers: Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull, and Tindfjallajökull. Its name, meaning "Thor's Valley," is derived from Norse mythology, where it is believed to be the dwelling place of the thunder god Thor. The area is characterized by a dramatic landscape of jagged mountains, deep ravines, lush green valleys, and cascading waterfalls. The Þjórsá river, Iceland's longest river, flows through the region.
