Överljudsflygning
Överljudsflygning refers to flight at speeds exceeding the speed of sound. This speed is approximately 343 meters per second (1,235 kilometers per hour or 767 miles per hour) at sea level and 15 degrees Celsius, though it varies with altitude and temperature. When an aircraft travels at or above the speed of sound, it generates shock waves that can result in a sonic boom, a loud noise heard on the ground.
The concept of overcoming the sound barrier was explored extensively during the mid-20th century. Early experiments
Supersonic flight has applications in both military and civilian aviation. Military aircraft, such as fighter jets,
