Électriques

Électriques is French for electrical. In English usage, the term describes things related to electricity: devices, systems, installations and phenomena involving electric energy, conduction, insulation and control.

Electricity is a form of energy arising from the presence and movement of electric charge. An electric current requires a closed circuit; voltage drives the current; resistance governs the relation I=V/R. Power is P=VI. Electricity can be generated from chemical, thermal, wind, solar or nuclear sources and transmitted through conductors to consumers.

Safety and standardization are central to electrical work. Codes regulate installation, grounding and protection against shock, fire and faults. Professionals rely on meters, circuit breakers, insulation and testing to ensure reliability.

Historically, the study of electricity involves scientists such as Volta, Ohm, Faraday and Maxwell; electrification transformed society through lighting, communication and the gradual integration of electrical networks into everyday life.
