Ækvivalensklasserne are a fundamental concept in abstract algebra and set theory, particularly in relation to equivalence relations. An equivalence relation on a set is a binary relation that is reflexive, symmetric, and transitive. When such a relation is defined, it partitions the set into disjoint subsets called equivalence classes. Every element of the original set belongs to exactly one of these equivalence classes.
