Åsane
Åsane is a district and former municipality in the province of Hordaland, Norway. It is located on the western side of the city of Bergen, the largest city in the region. Åsane was established as a municipality on January 1, 1838. The municipality covered an area of 13.8 square kilometers and had a population of 22,579 as of 2020. On January 1, 2020, it was merged with the city of Bergen, becoming a district of the city. The district is known for its residential areas, including the popular neighborhood of Åsane, which is home to several parks and recreational facilities. Åsane also has a significant industrial presence, with several manufacturing and logistics companies operating in the area. The district is served by the Åsane Line, a branch of the Bergen Tramway, which connects it to the city center. Åsane is also home to several educational institutions, including the Åsane Upper Secondary School and the Åsane School of Music. The district is known for its cultural events, such as the Åsane Festival, which takes place annually in the summer.
