Átradás is a Hungarian term that translates to "return" or "reversion" in English, often used in contexts involving the restoration of something to its original state or ownership. The concept is frequently discussed in the context of historical events, particularly during the late 20th century, when it referred to the return of territories, properties, or cultural artifacts to their original owners or nations after periods of foreign occupation or forced displacement.

One of the most notable examples of átradás in modern Hungarian history is the return of the Carpathian Ruthenia region (now part of modern-day Ukraine and Slovakia) to Hungary following the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918. However, the territory was later ceded to Czechoslovakia in the Treaty of Trianon (1920), and its return was a recurring political demand in Hungary during the 20th century. The term also gained prominence in discussions about the restitution of Jewish-owned property confiscated during World War II and the Holocaust, as well as the repatriation of Hungarian cultural artifacts held abroad.
