Áqá

Áqá is a region in the southern part of Azerbaijan. It borders the East Azerbaijan Province in Iran to the south, the Minjivan region to the east, and the Khanlar District to the west and north.

The region has an area of approximately 87 square kilometers. Áqá is composed of several small villages, with the largest being the village of Akhta. The population of the region is primarily rural and engaged in agricultural activities.

Áqá has an economy based on farming, animal husbandry, and small-scale industries. The region's produce includes fruits, vegetables, and grains, which are mainly for domestic consumption. Local Azeri and Azerbaijani traditions are prominent in the area.

Áqá is known for its significant historical sites, including ancient settlements, masjids, and archived ruins of structures from the ancient site. A considerable part of the archaeological collection found there is housed at the Baku Museum of History and Archaeology.

Geographically, the region is situated on the Vaygus Ridge's northwestern part and in the catchment area of the Vaygus River system. The climate in Áqá is characterized by winters with minimal temperatures and repetitive firm frosts. Summer in this region is warm and dry, with typical rainfall occurring in the spring.
