zolmitriptán
Zolmitriptan is a medication used to treat migraine headaches. It belongs to a class of drugs called triptans, which are selective serotonin receptor agonists. Zolmitriptan works by narrowing blood vessels in the brain and blocking pain signals. It is available in various forms, including oral tablets, orally disintegrating tablets, and nasal spray. The usual starting dose for adults is 2.5 mg, taken at the first sign of a migraine. If symptoms do not improve or return, a second dose may be taken, but not more than 10 mg in a 24-hour period.
Common side effects of zolmitriptan include dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, nausea, and a tingling or numb sensation
