zachová

Zachová is a municipality and village in the Jihlava District of the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It lies approximately 28 kilometers northwest of Jihlava, on the Boušovský Brook.

The maximum elevation in the area is 598 meters above sea level. The village covers an area of 5.85 square kilometers and has a population density of 16 inhabitants per square kilometer. As of 2020, the village had 96 inhabitants.

Zachová is one of the oldest villages in the region, with archaeological finds suggesting that it dates back to the Early Iron Age. The village has undergone significant changes over the centuries, particularly in the Middle Ages. By 1843, Zachová had five houses, and the number rose to 34 by the mid-20th century. Today, the village is a typical example of a rural settlement in the Czech Republic.

The village of Zachová features a number of historical structures, including a water mill and a Renaissance-era chapel. The surrounding landscape is covered in a mix of forests and agricultural land. The local economy relies heavily on agriculture and meat production. The village also hosts several cultural events and festivals throughout the year.
