vérrögöket
Vérrögöket, often translated as blood clots, are solid masses formed from blood constituents within the circulatory system. They are a natural and essential part of hemostasis, the process by which bleeding is stopped after an injury. When a blood vessel is damaged, platelets aggregate at the site, and a cascade of clotting factors is activated, leading to the formation of fibrin. This fibrin mesh traps blood cells and platelets, creating a clot that seals the damaged vessel and prevents further blood loss.
However, blood clots can also form abnormally in the absence of injury, a condition known as thrombosis.
