Värvispektriga refers to the visual spectrum of light, the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that is visible to the human eye. This spectrum is a continuous range of colors, ordered by their wavelength. When white light, such as sunlight, passes through a prism or is dispersed by water droplets in the atmosphere (creating a rainbow), it separates into its constituent colors.

The order of colors in the visible spectrum, from longest wavelength to shortest, is commonly remembered by the acronym ROYGBIV: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. While humans cannot see these regions, they have various effects and applications, such as UV light being used for sterilization and IR light for heat sensing.
