vyadujú

Vyadujú is not a standard form in modern Slovak. The verb most commonly used with the meaning “to require” or “to demand” is vyžadovať, and its third-person plural present tense is vyžadujú. The form vyadujú may appear as a nonstandard spelling, often arising from omission of diacritics or typographical errors in texts that do not preserve the correct orthography.

Etymology and forms. The standard Slovak verb vyžadovať derives from the root žiad- meaning “to demand” or “to ask,” with the prefix vy- forming a sense of completion or outward direction and the ending -ovať marking the verb in its infinitive. The related verb žiadať means “to ask” or “to request.” The diacritic character ž is essential in correct spelling; its absence can produce altered spellings such as vyadujú in informal or diacritic-free contexts.

Usage and meanings. In contemporary Slovak, vyžadovať is used to describe requirements, obligations, or conditions that must be met. Examples in standard spelling include: “Táto práca vyžaduje skúsenosti” (This work requires experience) and “Predpisy vyžadujú presné dodržanie termínov.” The nonstandard form vyadujú would typically be considered an orthographic error rather than a separate grammatical form.

Orthography and variation. The occurrence of vyadujú is primarily a consequence of missing diacritics or typographic simplifications. Slovak orthography relies on diacritic letters such as ž, which can change both pronunciation and meaning. In formal writing, vyžadovať and vyžadujú are correct; vyadujú should be avoided.
