villanó

Villanó is a village located in the Vas county of Hungary. It is situated in the northwestern part of the country, near the town of Őriszentpéter. The village is part of the Közszentpéterszent unitary local government regime.

Villanó was first mentioned in written records in 1136, during the Kingdom of Hungary. The village has undergone various changes in ownership and administration over the centuries.

The local economy was traditionally based on agriculture and animal husbandry, with the main resources being arable land and pastures present within and around the village.

During the period of Communist rule in Hungary, the village, like many others, underwent planned economic developments. Villanó was divided into smaller agricultural establishments which were considered to be typical of socialist self-management.
