Vastuvõtukatsetused, known in English as acceptance testing, are a critical phase in project management and software development. They are performed by the end-user or client to verify that the system or product meets the agreed-upon requirements and is ready for deployment. This stage focuses on the operational aspect of the system, ensuring it functions as expected in a real-world environment.

The primary goal of acceptance testing is to gain confidence that the system delivers the intended business value. It's the final check before the product is officially handed over to the customer. Common types of acceptance testing include User Acceptance Testing (UAT), where end-users test the system, and Business Acceptance Testing (BAT), which verifies that the system aligns with business objectives. Other forms might include Alpha testing, conducted internally by the development team or a select group of users before external release, and Beta testing, where a limited number of external users test the product in their own environments.

Successful acceptance testing requires a clear set of acceptance criteria defined early in the project lifecycle. These criteria act as benchmarks against which the system's performance is measured. If the system fails to meet these criteria, defects are identified, documented, and typically resolved by the development team before a final sign-off is granted. This process ensures that the delivered product is fit for purpose and meets the stakeholder's expectations.
