variabelareamätare
A variable area flow meter, known in Swedish as a "variabelareamätare," is a type of flow meter used to measure the volumetric flow rate of a fluid. It operates on the principle of a float moving within a tapered tube. The wider end of the tube is at the top, and the narrower end is at the bottom. As the fluid flows upwards through the tube, it lifts a float. The higher the flow rate, the higher the float rises in the tube. The cross-sectional area between the float and the tube wall increases as the float moves upwards. This increasing area is what gives the meter its name, "variable area."
The position of the float is directly proportional to the flow rate. A scale is typically marked
