Výchova is a Czech noun referring to upbringing and education. It denotes the deliberate shaping of a person’s character, knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behavior. The word derives from the verb vychovat, meaning to raise, bring up, or educate.

Výchova operates in formal and informal contexts. Informal výchova occurs in the family, among peers, and in the wider community, while formal výchova takes place in schools, classrooms, and other structured programs. Contemporary policy and practice favor equal access to education, support for learners with diverse needs, and cooperation among families, schools, and communities.
