Väljutussüsteem, commonly referred to as an ejection seat, is a critical safety device found in many high-performance aircraft. Its primary purpose is to rapidly propel a pilot or crew member out of a disabled aircraft to safety. This system is typically designed to be activated manually by the occupant when facing a life-threatening situation, such as structural failure, engine malfunction, or enemy engagement.

The operation of a väljutussüsteem involves a sequence of automated actions. Upon activation, a canopy or hatch is jettisoned to clear the escape path. Simultaneously, explosive charges or pneumatic systems are triggered to forcibly eject the seat, and its occupant, from the aircraft. As the seat ascends, it deploys a parachute, which slows the descent to a safe landing speed. Many modern systems also incorporate survival equipment, such as a life raft, medical kit, and emergency locator transmitter, attached to the seat or worn by the occupant.

Väljutussüsteem designs vary depending on the aircraft type and its operational environment. Some systems are designed for low-altitude ejections, while others are optimized for high-altitude or high-speed escapes. The development of these systems has significantly improved pilot survivability in military aviation.
