Välityshiukkanen, often translated as force carrier particle or mediator particle, is a fundamental concept in quantum field theory. It describes the particle that mediates the fundamental forces of nature. These particles are exchanged between other particles, thereby transmitting the force between them. For example, the photon is the välityshiukkanen of the electromagnetic force, responsible for interactions like the attraction between opposite charges or the repulsion between like charges.
