uutettu

Uutettu is a term that occasionally appears in Finnish texts but is not part of standard Finnish vocabulary. It is not listed in major dictionaries and is generally regarded as nonstandard, dialectal, or possibly a misspelling or creative usage. In contemporary Finnish, the standard way to express “reported” or “news-related” is to use the verb uutisoida (to report) and its passive past participle uutisoitu (reported). The noun uutinen means “news.”

Etymology and relation to standard forms: The root uutinen means news, and the suffix -ttu is a common participial or adjectival ending in Finnish. However, uutettu is not a recognized derivation in standard Finnish, and its appearance is usually interpreted as a nonstandard back-formation from uutinen or as a typographical or stylistic error.
